ROKMEN Up Armor™ Underbody Skidplate System - 03-06' TJ/LJ

Combine the ROKMEN High Clearance Belly Pan, Gas Tank Skid and Engine/Trans Skid, and the result is the ROKMEN Up Armor® Package.  When used together these items will give your rig the protection and added clearance to tackle the toughest of trails.

Our off road vehicles are one of the largest investments we will ever make.  Setting them up properly, both through protection and increasing off road prowess, is something everyone is after.  Protecting the vital components under our rigs keeps us moving down the trail and enjoying our hobby.

An added benefit to protecting the underbody is the chance to gain additional clearance through the use of our skid plates.  The Up Armor® Package does just this, giving you 2 1/4" of additional clearance at the bellypan, and 1 1/2" at the Gas Tank Skid.  These gains are equivalent to increasing tire size by 3-5", all while helping to keep your center of gravity low.

 Each part of the system is designed to be the best, from design, to construction, to fit and finish.  Details such as the dimple in the gas tank skidplate illustrate our dedication to producing only the best.

Made from 1/4" and 3/16" high grade steel plate that is laser cut, CNC formed, and fully TIG welded for unmatched craftsmanship and durability.

 

NOTES:
 - Fits 03-06 TJ/LJ 6Cyl engines with auto & manual transmissions 
- Available for both Rubicon and non-Rubicon models
- A minimum of 1" body lift is required for a bolt on installation.

FAQ's

Can I install the Up Armor™ package without a Body lift & Motor Mount Lift?
Yes  - Installation can be done, however; it is no longer a bolt on installation. Common areas that may require adjustment are: Body clearance around the Tcase, exhaust mount, and transmission bell housing as well as Tcase shifter linkage and fan shroud. The gas tank skid plate will require .5" spacers which are available separately.

How much clearance will I gain?
The Up Armor™ Package will net you approx 2.25" of clearance at the belly pan, and 1.5" at the gas Tank Skid. The Engine/transmission skid plate runs smooth with the bell pan. In total the system is designed to bring all of these components to within 1/2" of each other, giving you maximum height and an easy way to judge clearance under your whole vehicle while on the trail.

Do I need a CV Drive Shaft? Can I get one through ROKMEN?
This depends on how much driveline lift you will have on your vehicle. The general rule of thumb is - TJ's can handle about 4" of driveline lift without a CV Drive shaft - 5" is in the gray area and 6" is definite CV territory. For LJ's add 1" to those numbers. We carry Tom Woods CV drive shafts and have the knowledge and parts you need for a complete setup.

What about exhaust clearance near the upper passenger control arm?
This is common with all high clearance belly pans - Your jeep may require minor modification of the exhaust near the front passenger upper control arm for clearance. We have seen vehicles that have not required this, and ones that have. A quick trip to an exhaust shop after installation or sometimes just modification to the exhaust bracket (lowering it by 5/8") has provided the required clearance with no need for further modification.

Will the ROKMEN TT work on a 97-02 TJ?
No - Pre-03 TJ frame rails are slightly different. Rather than a 1 system fits all compromise, we have plans to develop specific systems just for the pre-03's so they can be maximized for those models. 

Will an Atlas Transfer case work with the ROKMEN TT?
Yes - the 2 speed Atlas Transfer Case will fit inside the ROKMEN skid plate, however, typical clearance issues with the body, shifter linkage, and stock T case mounts common with Atlas installations still apply. Other aftermarket Tcases are not known at this time.
